2530p Eiltebook
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

We just bought a new Bluetooth mouse only to find to our horror that it only supports Bluetooth LE aka SMART.

:Surprise::Crying:

Our 2530p Elitebook has a Bluetooth 2.0 module and Windows 7 drivers and so does not support LE or SMART natively.

Some possible solutions to this are:-

  1. Install LE compatible drivers perhaps from another HP model notebook.
  2. Remove the current Bluetooth module hardware and replace it with somethings else, again perhaps from another HP notebook.

Does anybody know if these solutions are feasible and if so, where do we start? Of course it may be that none of this is meaning we must admit defeat - plus upgrading to Windows 10 is not an option for us.

Thanks.
