HP Recommended
Pavilion dv7-6c23cl
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I would like to get a Second HDD and Caddy for my laptop.  I would really like to Boot from my Second HDD but don't know if this is possible, or if it was designed for Storage?

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-dv7-6c00-entertainment-notebook-pc-series/5169332/m...

This is the only link that applies to my exact laptop.

Would also like to know if the Connector/sion Speeds will be the same as the Main Drive Bay.  I can't seem to figure this out on my own?  Can't seem to find any good info on the MB?

I doesn't appear that hp has a 2nd Caddy Bay for sale, just the Whole Caddy Package: Hard Drive Hardware Kit, includes: 665597-001, and that is obsolete atm.

This is the link that some here have suggested, but I would still like to know if it is worth doing bacause I don't want to take a performance hit.  Only doing this to Boot from another OS, and not for storage.  Want to boot from Windows 7 on the main drive and linux on the Second, if, it will be up to the same performance standards as the Main Connectors, or close, as SATA-II.  If not, I'll just use a different laptop, or, use this one if the Performance hit will be small.  Now I'm confused, I found three links to the conversion.

This is the on I think it is:
