Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently replaced the palm rest/touchpad/keyboard on a HP 17-BY3065ST laptop. Afterward when booting, I got a CMOS error (Checksum invalid - 502) and then continued to boot normally. However, the touchpad itself does not function anymore. I have reseatted the cables, and uninstalled/reinstalled the driver. For the CMOS error, I have reset the BIOS to default, but that did not help. There is no button cell CMOS battery on the motherboard, and I could not find the real-time clock listed in device manager. I suspect the CMOS is causing the issue with the touchpad, but I don't know where to go from here.
