ProBook 455 G8
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've purchased 2 HP ProBook 455 G8s for my office and I don't understand all the port and cable types.  I would like to know what cables, adaptors and docking station I will need to set up each of them to connect to 2 Asus ProArt PA247CV monitors, wireless mouse/keyboard, and an ethernet cable.

The ProBook 455 G8 has the following ports:

  • 3 - SuperSpeed USB Type-A 5Gbps signaling rate (1 charging, 1 power);
  • 1 - SuperSpeed USB Type-C® 10Gbps signaling rate (USB Power Delivery, DisplayPort™ 1.4);
  • 1- RJ-45;
  • 1 - HDMI 1.4b

The Asus PA247CV has the following ports:

  • 1 - USB-C Display Port w/65 W Power Delivery
  • 2 - Display Port 1.2
  • 1 - HDMI (v1.4)
  • USB Hub (4 ports USB 3.1)

Can I use a USB 3.1 to RJ45 adapter to plug the ethernet cable into the back of the monitor such that I wouldn't need a docking station?  Can I power the notebook from the monitors so I only have one cable to plug into each notebook?  Or am I better off plugging power into the notebooks and using it to power the monitors?  What kind of USB-C cable would I need to run from the laptop to the first monitor?  I hope to connect the two monitors via the display ports (i.e. daisy chain).

Appreciate your assistance as I'm in over my head!
