Product: Spectre
Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP

I'd like to connect my HP Spectre laptop to an external Dell monitor that only has the older VGA ("pin type") plug.  My laptop does NOT have an HDMI port - it has a "regular" USB port and two Thunderbolt 3 ports (USB Type-C).  So will using USB-C - VGA dongle work?  My concern is that past support conversations showed some concerns the USB-C port doesn't support video displays.  Please advise.
