Hello,
I bought a brand new, high-end Spectre x360 (Product Y4P52AV) recently -- with a 2.7 Ghz i7-7500U processor, 512GB SSD and 16 GB of memory.
I am about to travel on a transcontinental flight that will be easily 16-18 hours total.
I have purchased a hard case, crush-proof carrying case (the Pelican 1070cc) which will protect it during travel.
Question-1: can I safely put this laptop (in the carrying case) into my check luggage? I have heard of stories of laptops whose batteries are such that they must NOT be packed into checked luggage, but must be hand-carried.
Question-2: is packing a laptop into checked luggage legally permissible by the TSA? I've checked their websites but can't seem to get a clear cut answer.
Would be grateful for any advice and tips.
Thank you.
