Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

My laptop says "ME is in recovery state" every startup before Windows 10 starts and I am trying to upgrade the ME Firmware to solve the problem, but can't.

I started to upgrade BIOS to the latest version (F.66 Rev.A)

I still get the same error when trying to upgrade the ME firmware.

"Error 8193: Intel (R) ME Interface : Cannot locate ME device driver"
Current ME version is 7.0.0.0054

The procedure I have tried is to create a bootable MS DOS USB stick and copied the FWUpdLCL tool along wit the BIN according to this instruction:
Intel Management Engine (ME) Firmware Update Tool for DOS or EFI 1.0.0.0 Rev.A

The command in DOS I used was:
C:\MEFLASH\DOS>FWUPDLCL -F 719132172.BIN
(i placed the BIN in the same folder as the FWUPDLCL.exe file)

The application starts and adding ...... ("." one by one every few second), but quits after a few minutes with the following error: "Error 8193: Intel (R) ME Interface : Cannot locate ME device driver"

How can I solve this ME FW update problem?

Thanks for advise!

Jacob
