Product: HP Chromebook 14

I have spent hours.  I cannot drag a file from the Gdrive into a folder on an attached USB drive with high capacity.  I want files OFF chromebook and from using google space.  I will only keep operational files on chromebook.

 

I want all Gdoc, Gsheet and video and photos off.  But, the directions to copy and "paste" do not work.  There is no paste option it is grayed.
