Product: Hp chrombook 14

Last year I had the same problem, wasn’t fixed over the phone, I had to send the chrombook for fixing. This year sameproblem happened again but the warranty expired! Tried troubleshooting using virtual support, didn’t work! 
I can see the screen using my phone flashlight, it’s there but very dark that I’m expecting the light in the screen is not working! Help.. can I do anything to fix it myself?
