Elitebook 850 G6
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

We are cloning SSD/HDD from time to time by using a clone tool, which allways works fine. Now I am facing the following problem when cloning a SSD of a HP Elitebook 850 G6:

- clone SSD to another SSD (M.2 NVMe)

- after replacing the original SSD with the clone W10 shows the rotating circle (but no Windows logo) for a while (5 sec)

- the the system reboots and does the above process again and again

First I thought that might be a problem of UEFI and a missing GPT partition os so, but after checking this everything is okay.

Now I was using the cloned SSD in another computer and here it was booting without any problems. I did that test on several other computers - even on older HP laptops - and the SSD does boot.

Now I was checking all security features inside the BIOS of the Elitebook 850 G6 and switched off secure boot, but it didn't solved the issue. Secure boot feature should be the reason for that at all..

I guess that there might be something else in the BIOS which prohibits booting W10. (AFAIK drive lock is NOT active)

BR, Stefan
