Compaq 610
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have compaq 610 laptop which I bought in 2010. It has 3 GB RAM, 2ghz processor, intel core 2 duo, Windows 7, ATI moblity radeon HD 4300 graphic card. It’s battery is out of order so I run it on AC power. It overheats within 10 - 20 minutes when I play some good quality videos, play games, watch a few videos on youtube, or even when I work on MS word. It has been happening since 2 years or so. I have got it's fan replaced but the result is the same, although the new fan is of different brand and current ratings but it is working fine. I even got it done with the thermal paste thing but the result is the same. The technician told me that it could be my old hardware in my laptop which has old semiconductors or maybe the old graphic card which is throwing such issues. Old components will heat up with modern applications as they can’t keep up with the performance and suck in too much power trying to perform beyond their limits. I have no idea what to do? Is my laptop too old to work in present updated software world and scenario?
