Hi all,

 

I have an Compaq Contura 4/25CX but I have trouble installing a larger HDD (514mb Quantum Daytona HDD). I found that a newer BIOS could sometimes support larger HDD's.

 

I found that SP1992 would be the BIOS for my laptop... however during install it gives the message that 'it' (the floppy where SP1992 was extracted/installed to) doesn't contain ROM files suitable for my laptop.

I can hardly find any information about what would be the latest BIOS version for my laptop. I assume SP1992 doesn't work because it is for the Aero lineup. Any other original Compaq drivers would be a help for me as well as they cannot be downloaded anywhere when HP removed them (logical of course) from the old driver website.
