Product: Zbook Studio g5 x360
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So i got this laptop and my friends said the mic was pretty bad. So i bought a new mic expecting to get an upgrade. However my laptop doesn't show the mic on the recording device list. It only shows the Conexant ISST audio driver internal mic. It does say that it has a 3.5 mm jack connection. But it's not using it!

Even when i put a headset in it, it's still not using the mic of the headset, even though it shows a headset icon besides the input.

 

My laptop is the HP Zbook Studio G5 x360

the audio driver is Conexant ISST audio driver.

 

it also shows a stereo mix besides the mic, but it's not using that either.

 

I tried reinstalling the driver. but it still doesn't work
