HP EliteBook 840 G3
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP EliteBook 840 G3 and I'm trying to connect it to two external monitors. I can connect it easily to one monitor using the VGA port but am not sure how to I can get the second monitor connected. I tried using a USB-C dock with a VGA adapter but it does not work with the 840 apparently. I've been researching and saw this adapter https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-usb-c-to-vga-display-adapter but I'm not able to find out whether it would work with my laptop.

If I buy the adapter linked above would I be able to use it to connect a second monitor? Is there a better way to get a two monitor setup working?

Thanks!

Edit:  I forgot to mention that I want to have an extended display, not just mirror my screen.
