Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, About 1.5 years ago now I purchased a 2TB SSD internal Samsung hard drive for my hp notebook. the model number of the notebook is 15-af148ac. After installing the new hard drive, I immediately noticed that then screen periodically freezes for half a second at regular intervals. The interesting thing is that the system is still working fine behind the screen. for example, when using the mouse, for half a second every 1.5 seconds or so, the screen freezes. If I am moving the mouse across the screen, the mouse will freeze when the screen freezes, but once the computer screen unfreezes half a second later, the mouse will jump across the screen. So the computer is still working behind the screen, and it is only the screen freezing.

This issue didn't happen with the original hard drive, and only started once I installed the new hard drive. I decided to keep the new hard drive as I needed the storage and wanted the system to be faster with an SSD. Although the system has been much faster since installing the SSD, the freezing mouse has been driving me crazy. I have tried several ways to fix it and think I may have identified the issue somewhat, but do not know where to go from here.

Other things that I have noted is that when watching YouTube videos full screen, the freezing does not occur, although it does occur when watching in small screen. The freezing is also not limited to any specific programs and constantly happens regardless of what I am running. I also noticed that in safe mode, the screen does not freeze at all and the issue is resolved. I also noted that in safe mode, Samsung magician says that ahci mode is deactivated, whereas when the computer is normally operating, it says ahci mode is activated. Thus, I thought that disabling ahci mode may fix the issue, however, after going into the computer's bios, there is no option to change ahci mode to ide mode. I feel like there must be a way to fix this issue as it must be some setting which is disabled in safe mode, and  that setting is causing the computer to freeze like it is. I have not been able to find anyone else online with a problem exactly as I am experiencing with my computer.

I am basically hoping that someone will be able to offer some more insight into what I can do to resolve this issue. It'd be really nice to have a functioning computer which doesn't freeze ever second and a half. Thanks!
