Probook 6460b
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

I brought a HP Probook 6460b and I noticed strange behavior regarding system sleep/hibernate and shut down.

When system is turned off, if I plug in the AC/DC adapter (charger) if the battery is connected to it, the processor cooling fan start running on maximum speed though the laptop is not open. If only one of them is connected (battery/AC adapter) the system is shut down as expected.

If I set the laptop to sleep, the same behavior happens even on battery/AC adapter.

I can't think of any reasons for that. I checked the BIOS settings, every option for Power Circuit Monitor, Fan running while AC, Power on at AC, Power Control are turned off.

I need help regarding this matter.

I find it difficult to keep the laptop on Sleep/Hibernate or plugged in with this kind of behavior, because its very noisy.

I tried updating the BIOS but that did not good.

Thank you,
