EliteBook 840 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear all,

I was adding an old Dell TB-16 docking station on my work EliteBook laptop 840G5. It did not work after a minute : display works fine using the USB-C Thunderbold connector but USB attached ports & Gigabit Ethernet interface went down while screen display was still on.

After some searches, it appears that the Intel Thunderbold drivers was the culprit : it needs being uninstalled, compputer rebooted, and then the docking's USB-C being connected again. It shall reinstall the Intel Thunderbolt drivers and ask for your approval to allow a docking station being attached to the device (connected to Windows). Apparently, it's a security feature from Windows 10.

So, don't throw out the "old" docking : there is a way to make them work !
