Hp envy 15ts
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Good Afternoon,

I'm really unsure if this is either a hardware or a software issue. I strongly believe that the hard disk gave in because when I unplug the power card, o get a kind of "clique" sound. That aside, here's my problem;

I have an mid 2014 HP envy and did a hard disk upgrade months ago. Today, I powered on the laptop and instead of tapping on the f9 keys to get into the boot manager to boot Linux I went into the bios settings (f10). I discarded any changes in the settings and rebooted the system. Even though the laptop turned on [which is evident from the exhaust fan and the LED light on the wireless button], the screen didn't light up. It was dead without any backlight...

I tried the reset bios keys, but didn't work either. The backlight keys don't turn on either... This essentially means that the laptop hasn't completely booted.

Any help would.be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.
