HP Spectre x360 15-ch015nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Please see video (https://youtu.be/VHX_zgMP3Yw) and read my description.

I have already tried all the things they say to try.

Laptop was completely fine until I used the HDMI port, and also the USB C port to connect to a monitor.

I never had a problem with the screen before I used those ports.

It doesn't always flicker. Just when it's too cold (after boot or sleep) or too hot (after 6+ hours of dev work), or whenever it feels like it.

Plugging the HDMI or USB C monitor cable (when connected to a running monitor) then sometimes fixes it.

And sometimes it doesn't fix it.

Sometimes REMOVING the monitor cable fixes it. I am wondering if there is a problem with the HDMI/USB C port hardware.

Again, everything was fine with the display before I used these ports. Over a year without any issues at all. As soon as I used the ports, which are next to each other, I had these flicker issues.

I have tried:

  • reloading Win 10 from factory settings
  • reloading all the latest drivers
  • changing cables (they were all brand new)
  • changing display from 60Hz to 40Hz (it's set to 40Hz now)

I have checked the HP parts page, but they don't sell the part that has these ports on it. Is this a factory defect, since I never had any issues until I used these ports?

Thanks in advance for any help!
