Elitebook 850 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I’m using an HP EliteBook 850 G7 and I'm having a weird issue with my built-in Notebook Keyboard which is using the following driver (in Device Manager):

Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard for HP Hotkey Support (Version 11.1.6.1; Date: 2020-12-09)

When typing the Uppercase "B" or Uppercase "N" letters on the built-in notebook keyboard it types the two-letter phrase "TB" or "RB" / "ZN" or "UN" (depending on whether I used the left or right Shift Key).

All other letters do not have this issue and work as expected. This only happens under my Windows 10 Pro Installation (currently Version 21H1 (Build 19043.12.02) German) and only with the built-in notebook keyboard.

When I'm typing text with my external USB Logitech Keyboard everything works just fine. Also, when I'm typing in the BIOS the issue does not occur, that's why I'm suspecting a windows driver issue.

I already executed the HP UEFI Diagnostics System and Component Tests which where all successful.

This issue exists since some days back. Back then when I purchased the Notebook (two months ago) everything worked fine and this issue did not exist.

Is there a way to roll-back the driver to a previous version (in my case it looks as if the driver was updated via Windows Update some days ago).

In the device Manager the option to roll-back the driver is greyed out for me.

As an alternative would it be possible to manually install a different driver (and if so, where can I get it)? I could not find a dedicated driver for the keyboard in the HP support pages for my notebook model.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

TStav
