Product: ZBook G5, Elitebook 850 G3, Conexant
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I just got a user complaint (with this content) at work. I found many similar complaints but not a solution to the problem so sharing what I found.
Issue is related to MicTray64.exe process that is part of the Conexant audio driver.
There is registry key: “HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Conexant\MicTray\HotKey”
Which contains two binary entries:
HotKeyMicScancode - sets listener for esc + F10 keystroke
HotKeyMicScancode2 - sets listener for esc + F8 keystroke
You can remove these entries or remap them according to you needs and restart the MicTray64 process. Alternatively, you can try to prevent MicTray64.exe from starting.
