HP ENVY - 17t-ae100 CTO
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In 2020, DevLinux posted, "Vertical Lines On Display" regarding his HP ENVY - 17t-ae100 CTO.  I have the EXACT same issue with my UHD display.  I'm not going to pay several hundred dollars for a new display panel when, it appears, only the display ribbon cable is at fault.  I had this issue with an old HP HDX16 laptop (failure) of the hinged display ribbon cable.

My display looks exactly like DevLinux's display, but I can bring back the laptop's 17" display by plugging in an HDMI cable to display the output on my television.  After about a minute of clicking windows, my laptop display returns to normal.  If I shut down the laptop or move the hinged display very much, the vertical lines reappear and I have to go back to the previously mentioned HDMI process.

Any ideas here?  I'm assuming it's a faulty display cable, but could it be something more???
