Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hi,

I had this laptop powered down for quite a while (over a month) while locked into its docking station. It was fully off, to my knowledge, and was functioning 100% prior.

However, today when turning it on while plugged in I noticed the lightning (charge) LED was not lit, even though the AC adapter was plugged in. Windows 7 to my surprise was reporting 0% (plugged in, not charging).

I powered off, plugged the AC directly into the laptop after removing from docking station in case it was an issue -- no change.

I pulled AC and laptop immediately turned off, confirming no charge in battery (or laptop didn't think so anyway).

In BIOS I checked System Information, the BIOS does detect Internal Battery #0, serial 00629 or similar, etc...

When I connect AC while laptop is off, the charge (lightning) LED blinks on ONCE for 1sec, then stays off.

This is an official (original) battery, the BIOS says from 2012 so it's old but it was working fine recently! Any ideas?

I have already tried things mentioned on the net: removing AC and battery, holding power on for 30s, then re-installing battery & AC, to no avail.

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

-Russ
