Elitebook 8570p

Hello guys!

So approx. one month ago I bought this broken "spares and repairs" Elitebook 8560p off Ebay for 75 GBP, saying that it had a general TDR failure(which at the time I didn't thought that it was the GPU chip itself being completely toast). After few days of digging and researching I realized that and I thought myself "Well, why not waste money and upgrade this thing to have an Elitebook 8570p motherboard then?". And so I did. Now I have one Elitebook 8570p installed and it's working perfectly fine but one thing: the audio.

I have tried multiple operating systems such as Windows 10 and 7, even Ubuntu but I could not figure out why. The drivers were installing fine, absolutely no trouble, BIOS was not reporting anything out of the order, Windows was telling me everything was in working order as well. But I still had no sound whatsoever. Ubuntu however, told me that the laptop was in headphones mode(yes the drivers were installed).

Now I have thought "what if I haven't connected something properly while putting it all back together?".
Few minutes later, I found out that the USB motherboard which connects to the main board is not compatible, connector wise. Ever since I have been asking myself "is this really the cause of the audio not working?".

Yes, the seller who sold me the motherboard said that the audio was working fine before sending it in. Also, it was not bumped or such during shipping, the main board was wrapped securely in a strong box.

I'm here to ask you guys: Do you think that USB board could cause this problem? Could the Elitebook 8560p speakers be incompatible with the Elitebook 8570p motherboard? I really do not think that the audio chip is toast, Windows does not give me any errors.

Let me know your opinions, I am eager to hear them all.
