Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am trying to find how to enable num lock to be on on start up.

Looking at an older thread, I saw the following recommendation:

Step 1. Press Win + R and type in Regedit
Step 2. Navigate to registry key HKEY_USERS\Default\Control Panel\Keyboard
Step 3. Right click on the “InitialKeyboardIndicators”, select Modify and change Value data to 2.
Step 4. Save and exit Registry.

I tried changing the default value from 2147483648 to 2147483650
I also tried changing the default value from 2147483648 to 2

In both cases, I received the same error message:  Cannot edit InitialKeyboardIndicators: Error writing the value's new contents.

Any ideas on a solution?
