HP Recommended
Product: HP Envy laptop N7K55EA#ABU... Screen HP 27fw 68.58 cm (27") Ultraslim Full-HD IPS Monitor
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP laptop is set to the recommended resolution of 3200 x 1800 and the extra screen is set to 1920 x 1080.  Picture on laptop is great but when I move onto the Extended screen its low quality pixelated text.

 

When I connect an old Lenovo windows 7 laptop resolution 1600 x 900 I don't have the problem

 

Given that I have just purchased the screen from HP and is newer than either laptop I am surprised the resolution does not match the laptop.  Any thoughts please ?
