I've recently (the past  month) noticed an issue where an external Mic on my head set is not recognized by this model laptop when it is first plugged into the laptop audio jack.  The head phones are immediately recognized and the laptop switches automatically from  the internal speaker to to headphone output, but the computer doesn't switch from internal mic to external mic (in fact, i cannot manually switch this either).  The problem is temporarily corrected by disconnecting and reconnecting the head set jack, but the problem resurfaces after a reboot.  I've noticed the problem on laptops with both windows 10 1803 and 1809 and I've insured the latest drivers have been installed during system imaging via MDT.  Any help/Sympathy would be appreciated.
