HP Recommended
ZBook 15 G3, HP Thunderbolt Dock G2
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 similar set-ups using HP Thunderbolt Dock G2's ...

Setup 1  :  2 HP ZR30w displays connected to the docking station via DVI cables

Setup 2  :  1 HP ZR30w display, and 1 HP LP2480 display connected to the docking station via DVI cables

Both G2 docking stations have up-to-date FW ( 1.0.60.1 )

The ZBook 15 G3 has up-to-date BIOS( 01.45 Rev.A )

Windows 10 Enterprise, 64bit OS, 16GB RAM, Version 1809

When connected to setup 2, I can close the lid and continue to work on my 2 external monitors without any issue.  When connected to setup 1, if I close the lid then the laptop turns off the displays. As soon as I open the laptop the monitors turn back on.  I have verified that in the Windows power options, "when I close the lid" the configuration is set to "Do nothing"

Also, one more detail ...  when I connected the monitors in Setup 2 to the docking station used in Setup 1, closing the lid behaved as expected - so I think that it rules out the G2 dock. Is it related to the type of monitors that I am using and an incompatibility with the Laptop?

Can anyone help me?

I am an HP employee. (Although I am employed by HP, I am speaking for myself and not for HP) ...
