I have a weird problem with my new Probook. I have an external Philips monitor which I connect via an HDMI cable. When I first set up my laptop it worked fine with the monitor, but then following a microsoft update last week the monitor stopped being detected by my laptop. The monitor knows it's connected to the laptop and gives the error message "cannot display this video mode, change computer display input to 1920x1080@60HZ". However these are the settings I am using!

I tried uninstalling the graphics driver and reinstalling, first with an older version and then with the new version. When I installed the older version from the HP website it started connecting with the external screen and worked fine for about 3 hours but then just stopped and displayed the same error message. When I reverted to the new version of the graphics card it didn't work from the get-go.

I'm at my wit's end! Has anyone else had this same problem and how did you solve it?

thanks!
