Hi

Running, Windows 10 Pro.  Having issues with USB Serial Drivers following install of software which appears to have corrupted my drivers.

I tried to install some USB Serial port monitoring tools but they failed to install correctly.  Following this, I was no longer able to use my USB RS232 Serial ports (I have 2).  The following error is reported in the Device Manager.

Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)

If I restart windows using the Ignore Digital Signature option (restart with Shift held down), It all starts working! I am able to use the serial ports .... until I reboot again (without the digital signature option).

I have tried removing the USB port (and drivers) and reinstalled the "signed" version from the FTDI web site.  This doesnt get rid of the code 52 error.  I have also tried searching for the "Upper and Lower filter" solution listed elsewhere on the web, but these entries arent on my PC.

I didnt create a restore point prior to the installation of the software.  Word of warning to others - dont forget to do this when trialling new software (sigh)

Does HP have a set of drivers I can install to repair or make this issue go away?  Using Serial Ports is a key part of my job and my HPPro used to handle them perfectly.

Any help appreciated.

Brett
