Dear community, 

 

I am working from home with my enterprise hp notebook with which I am very happy. In order to extend my display I read about the possibility to connect certain iMac as a secondary monitor with the "Target Display Mode" of the iMac. I use a iMac 21" (late 2013) which supports target display mode and has Thunderbolt 2. I have a Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) to Thunderbolt 2 adapter which I plug in to the hp notebooke and the thunderbolt 2 cable which goes to the iMac. Both, the adapter and the cable are original Apple products.

 

When I press CMD + F2 on the iMac, nothing happens. According to descriptions on apple site and youtube videos that's when the iMac shall enter target display mode and show the content of the connected notebook. 

 

On the notebook in the "Thunderbolt" Utility under "attached devices", I can see that the "Macintosh" is connected. However, it seems only as a network resource.

 

I would really appreciate your help on this in order to make life easier working from home.
