Spectre x360 Touch
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Like many other people seem to be experiencing, my built-in HP webcam was showing a black screen. In my case, I knew my camera was working because I can see myself in the Camera app, but for some reason the screen was black and blurry when trying to use any other app for video (e.g., medical visits through Doxy, screen recording software).

If that's your situation, try downloading and installing the .Net Framework 3.5 for Windows.

For me this worked instantly, without even requiring a restart. I know some other folks are dealing with other issues, but I hope this thread helps some as an easy solution. Best wishes to you all.  The only reason I came across this solution is because I happened to purchase Camtasia 2020, which suggested installing it. So how did TechSmith know the missing piece and not Windows lol.
