Due to personal dexterity limitations I find using a mouse difficult to control and have added a GamePad, with XPAdder, which works well for controlling cursor movement.

Although it works, the GamePad is operating at a different level to the mouse, and  for some operations doesn't work - typically when a popup is asking for permission to continue - when that happens the gamepad stops working an I have to use the keyboard or mouse to confirm.

For a limited number of software applications the gamepad is dead, and I'm forced to use the mouse to move and select.

I can broadly understand that some devices (keyoard and mouse) are working at a priviledged level (ring0?) within Windows which allow device messages to get through to the corresponding WndProc.

Question is - is there a way to configure a gamepad to allow it to work at that priviledged level?
