Hi,

I have an HDMI cable connected to a Displayport to HDMI adapter that is plugged into a HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking station. There are times when the video part of the HDMI WILL work, but the audio part will either not work after booting the laptop, or the audio WILL work, but will randomly cut out while a video is playing.

Some steps that I've taken to troubleshoot are:

  1. Updated the audio, graphics, BIOS, and chipset drivers.
  2. Tried using a 3.5mm cable in addition to the HDMI cable. With the 3.5mm cable, the audio doesn't cut out at all. It's only when just using the HDMI cable to carry the audio. However, I would prefer that the HDMI audio works so that I can eliminate unnecessary cables.

Any suggestions?
