Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I'm upgrading two identical 15-DW2063ST HP laptops with new and larger Crucial M.2 SSDs, and migrating the data/OS by using the Acronis/Crucial Cloning software. Both laptops are fully up to date on drivers and completely identical settings in BIOS. Despite the identical nature of the laptops and the new SSDs, one laptop will boot and the other will not.

On Laptop A, the process works flawlessly: Clone old internal SSD to USB-mounted SSD, replace old SSD with new SSD in the internal slot, boot, begin working!

On Laptop B, the exact same process results in the system not booting, and the F10 BIOS menu reports that there is no SSD installed despite it being physically in place.

Additional data:

   - Laptop B will boot with Laptop A's original SSD

   - Laptop B will boot with new cloned SSD installed in USB enclosure, using BIOS tools to perform USB boot.

   - Laptop A will boot with Laptop B's new or old SSD.

Please help...what magic spell should I cast to cause Laptop B to recognize and boot from the new SSD?
