My HP 15-db1100ny has an absolutely atrocious Realtek 8821CE Wireless NIC. I have tried 3 driver versions in hopes of solving the constant disconnects, but this brilliant example of 'quality' Realtek 'engineering' keeps doing its thing and it's driving me mad. This is the 2nd laptop I've had with Realtek hardware that can't maintain a stable Wi-Fi connection. I've resorted to using an Asus USB-AC51 adapter which is stable, but only reaches 65Mbps on Speedtest.net(Realtek reaches 200-220Mbps)
I'd like to upgrade to an Intel Wireless 9260ngw NIC. I know it won't work at its maximum speed because the laptop has only one antenna, but I just want a stable, 200-300MBps connection and I don't need Bluetooth. I have opened the laptop before(upgraded to 16GB RAM and installed a NVMe SSD), so I know exactly what I have to do.
Problem is, I have had a look at the service manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06719946.pdf and I can only see Realtek garbage listed(8822BE,8821CE and the slow 8723DE). Does this mean I can only use those three? That would be incredibly frustrating as I'm pretty sure Realtek is the worst hardware company in history. The incompetence is incredible and I have no idea why HP and other manufacturers keep including Realtek hardware in their products.
I apologize for the rant, I'm just at wits end with Realtek.
