Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had BIOS update on my  notebook, version f.31sp112184. after initiating the update in support assistant, laptop restarted and remained in blank screen. registered the complaint and they replaced motherboard. and when I installed the update In front of the engineer, same issue again. Thankfully I was covered in warranty. Now that update is gone. What is the actual issue causing this? And why I have to replace motherboard for such issues?
