I have a client that replaced a 470 G5 with a 470 G7 without realizing that there is no USB-C port on the newer 470 G7. They have a Thunderbolt 120W dock with Audio that they used on the old 470 G5 with two external monitors. They have tried to get the dock to work with the new 470 G7 but are unable to get any video to the monitors connected to the dock (connecting directly to the HDMI port on the 470 G7 works).
Any ideas as to why there is no video out on the docking station?
Is it still possible to run two DisplayPort monitors off of the docking station?
P.S. the docking station has a USB-C male connector to connect to the computer and since there is no USB-C on the laptop they are using a USB-C female to USB-A male 3.0 adapter. Would replacing the cable from the dock with a USB-C to USB-A cable be better than using the adapter?
