Hi

I need to know if I can purchase a SMC.bin file for my HP Laptop, it is under warranty still but I cant for the life of me find the laptop bios password, I have not needed it ever and I purchased the laptop when it was 1 year old, the dealer is obviously not wanting to help and said that HP will help, having searched a little is seems they no longer will help with the file and I need to buy a new motherboard...

Surely a £1k laptop should not be left unable to update due to this? It has a new SSD and windows so there is no security risk

Reason for needing is that when I re installed windows on a new SSD in the week I did it on my HP dock which had the ethernet plugged in, now it keeps trying to network boot even when not on the dock, I cant re arrange the boot order due to the bios password.

First world problems and all but any help greatly appreciated, Laptop is under warranty but have not spoken with HP yet as googling suggests they wont help anyway.
