HP Recommended
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have been using my 8510w for sevreal years and it served me well, until I had an issue requireing me to purchase a new motherboard as mine went bad. I found one on eBay for a good price. Installed it and when i powered on I am asked for the Embedded Password, I never used this feature on my 8510w, and the vendor i purchased the motherboard from does not possess this information. I am in desperate need of having this resolved so I can use my laptop. 

 

Please no lectures or opinions on "why i should buy a new latop" or "cautionary tales from eBay"... there is a method for resetting the TPM and it requires HP support. how can i clear the TPM and I suspect there will be a BIOS password as well that i will have to clear.

 

I eagerly await some help here....
