Pavilion 15t-cs200
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I decided to run a HP BIOS update. My original bios version was F.20, and I was updating to F.23

So I did what the HP instructions said, by fully disabling antivirus and bitlocker

Then I downloaded the BIOS update from the HP website.

I did what the utility said, followed along, and the BIOS update carried on.

It started flashing 4096 blocks of BIOS, and it went on and eventually told me that the BIOS update was successful and told me to reboot.

Then I saw the screen "Flashing boot block" TWICE. One after another.

Then after that, I saw some screens turning black and grey like they said.

However, IMMEDIATELY after that, it suddenly loaded up an HP BIOS recovery and said it is doing a system BIOS recovery. So that completed, and LUCKILY, I was able to boot into Windows and log in like normal.

When it told me to reboot after doing the BIOS recovery, it showed "Flashing boot block" only once this time.

I then checked the version of the BIOS, and for some odd reason, it is still showing as F.23, after doing the BIOS recovery. I expect it to show the version as F.20 after a BIOS recovery after a failed BIOS update.

I then plan to download  the BIOS update again, but I decide to try the  new automatically detect drivers. For some reason, it is showing the BIOS update as critical.

I am extremely confused by this. Why is the BIOS version showing as the latest, F.23, but the HP driver website tells me to update it again.

Can anyone try to clarify this? Thanks.

Edit: Sorry if this is in the wrong category. I was desperate to know at the time of writing this.
