HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0123tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

To whom it may concern,

The short story:

My HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0123tx; which has a 6-cell, 83 capacity battery is giving a maximum of 2 Hours and 20 Mins backup WITH VERY NORMAL USAGE.

Details:

I have been a long-term consumer of your products and services; so far, they had all been to my satisfaction. But this time, I am writing to express my disappointment. I purchased HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0123tx on 17 June 2021. Since then, I am facing overheating and battery backup issues.

Battery Backup:

I decided to purchase this laptop because of its amazing configuration; including 6-cell, 83Wh capacity battery. For which expert reviews said 13/16 hours, user reviews said 7-8 hours and you advertised 13 hours video playback time; a Few days ago, I got surprised and disappointed to discover that HP has changed the battery backup information on their product page from 13 hours to this:

Battery life mixed usage: Up to 6 hours and 45 minutes

Video Playback Battery life: Up to 5 hours and 45 minutes

What I’m getting: A maximum of 2 hours and 20 mins, on normal usage, even on just video playback on low brightness.

I’m attaching the Battery report and IDR Logs for your reference.

Please note that my battery has been replaced once (thank you for that) but the issue remains the same.

So, there is NO FAULT found in my laptop as the service executive said, I agree, but there is definitely an issue; that a battery backup of 2 hours and 20 mins, on normal usage from a 6-cell, 83Wh the capacity battery is UNACCEPTABLE.

Overheating:

This laptop gets heated normally as well, which I understand because of i7 processor, thin metallic body. However, as soon as I plug the charger and close the lid, the laptop gets so hot. This is specifically in sleep mode. CPU usage goes very high and the fan starts working.

Sir/ Ma’am, apart from a very low battery backup and overheating; this laptop works amazing. I hope you understand the issue from my point of view. Buying this premium high-end expensive laptop especially in these difficult times wasn’t easy at all. It could be very easy for you to just ignore this email/issue but this definitely needs the attention of one of the most trusted organisations THE HP ENTERPRISES that their high-end product has this very low performance.

I have faith in you that you will do your best and the needful. I wish to stay a loyal customer to you in the future as well, however, that a lot depends upon your response too.

Yours sincerely,

Sudhir Rana
