HP EliteBook 745 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello!

We are having compatibility issues with HP EliteBook 745 G5 and the HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station.

When connecting speakers to the Dockningsstation with the HP EliteBook 745 G5 docked there is a constant annoying background noise. Its connected with a 3,5 mm audio cable. If you switch and connect the audio cable directly into the computer while its docked the background noise still remains.

It even becomes louder when you move the mouse around or scroll through pages, its clearly some kind of disturbance.

When we switched computer to a HP EliteBook 840 G3 the background noise disappeared immediately.

Our HP EliteBook 745 G5 is updated with the latest drivers and firmware from HP SoftPaq including BIOS.

The HP 2013 UltraSlim Docking Station is using the latest firmwares we can find

SP79014 - HP Ultraslim Docking Station VGA Controller Firmware Update - VERSION= F2X4

SP79015 - HP 2013 Ultraslim Docking Station DP Hub Firmware - Version=2.33

But the funny thing is that even though the HP 745 clearly is physically compatibly with the dockingstation its not mentioned in any CVA. files for upgrading the dock firmware.

Anyone else having these issues ?

Kind Regards Henrik
