Hi jsut to complete the picture of the screen issue:

I am typing on the Notebook attached to an external scren my Television (for your information)!

 

Yes I have pressed [fn] f4 and chose "Duplicate"  .theefore I can see what I am writing!

Of course the [fn] f4 works as "Extended" and as "projector only"

 

BUT not "disconnect projector" obviously!

 

Thank you for explaining what can be going wrong on a "machine" and "sceen" which otherwise has/have  been very relaible for many years!
