Product: HP Elitebook 8730W
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hello all! I am currently experiencing an issue with my HP Elitebook 8730w. It was working a long time ago (3 months ago) and then recently it stopped working when windows booted up, as it would shut down after windows booted and the fan was the only thing that would continue to work. Now all I can experience is when I plug in my computer, it'll show it is receiving power but pressing the power button does nothing. It used to do a power cycle and say the CPU is not functional and then power off. So I replaced the original Core 2 Duo CPU with a Core 2 Extreme (compatible with the HP Elitebook 8730W), and I still can't hit the power button and power on the computer. Is my BIOS corrupt and do I have to somehow reflash my RAM, or is the computer dead beyond repair? The computer is out of warranty and I'm literally working on it myself with very little money. I just need the computer for school, work, and gaming. But with the computer broken, I can't do much. If you have any thoughts on this issue, please reply! Thanks, Comouterteen17 P.S. I do know I misspelled my username so it's really ComputerTeen17
