I had issues for a year with my HP Envy m360 purchased at Best Buy late last year that rendered it a $1000 paperweight.  Almost out of the box the computer kept freezing up so I could not go online, watch videos, or use it off line.  Most of the time I had no sounds.  After hours and hours of time spent with Geek Squad in person, online and over the phone, an in-home Geek Squad agent figured out the two different sound drivers on my laptop were constantly battling and maxing out the systems resources at 100%.

(I have shortened a years worth of fighting into a paragraph here.)

Try wiping or have someone wipe your computer clean.  Then have them do a restore on your computer with a plain version of Windows 10 that does not have any of the HP bloatware on it.  Make sure both of the sound drivers are not installed again.

I have posted my story on so many of the different threads on this forum that deal with the same issue.  At one point my computer was sent back to HP under mfg warranty and they replaced the defective battery and fan because when the system resources were maxed out the fan would rev up and never shut off.

It is shocking that so many people are having this problem but the telephone customer service reps as well as the people fixing these computers under warranty have no clue how to deal with this issue.  Do they not test these things before they get stuffed in a box?  Someone needs get a class action lawsuit going against HP for these bum units.
