Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I was having a problem with my USB c on my laptop. It would not recognize anything plugged into it or charge the device. I took suggested steps to fix the problem and eventually on a support form on the hp website; it was fixed by updating the bios. I went to the drivers section on the website and put in the serial number to find my device and downloaded the driver (and confirmed it was a different version than what was currently running on my system by using cpuz). It installed as the .exe for the HP setup guide. I let the installer do its thing and made sure not to mess with anything while it started (it was also charging). It got to the firmware section of the update and said it failed. it has been stuck on a black screen with a small white rectangle in the top left corner.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
