We're having the same issue and no solution. This was taken from the following post.

I recently upgraded laptops to the Elitebook 840 G7. Because of the laptop upgrade, I could no longer use my older HP docking station to connect my 3 monitors. I purchased the G5 USB C docking station to hook up the 3 monitors. A few notes:

1. The only way to get the resolution working as expected is to change a system setting on boot up. I did this and it worked as expected (after a couple of hours of troubleshooting :))

2. The dock ethernet plug seems to be capped at 100 Mbps for whatever reason (the old dock I was getting 400+ Mbps on?). I bought a USB c to ethernet converted to bypass the dock and am getting similar speeds now.

3. If the dock goes to sleep (after about 3 times of going to sleep), the audio connection stops working for my plugged-in microphone. The headset audio works, but the headset microphone stops working. The only way I've found to fix it is to reset my laptop (which is not great after trying to get into a work meeting :))

4. My commentary on this - how are there so many issues showing up on this new $250+ docking station, that worked out of the box on my 5+year old docking station?
