Omen 15-dc1xxx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Around 1 month back, my battery started getting swelling up, thus I asked my pc repair guy to arrange a third-party replacement for the battery. My old battery was SR04XL, The guy got 2 batteries with the same part number and both of them failed to work with my laptop, showing charge state - fuse blown (42).

After contacting official HP services, They managed to get a battery replacement for my laptop, but to my surprise the part they arranged was SR03XL, I asked them to not change it as I was afraid that the laptop would underperform as that battery has lesser voltage compared to the older one. I asked the support to get a replacement for my model, but they replied by saying that the part is out of stock and that has been the case for 2 months now.

Now, I tried getting a spare part from an online store, and this battery has exactly the same part number as my old one. But even this battery is not being able to charge properly.

Observations:

1. Laptop can't start on the battery.

2. When on AC power, if I remove the cord, the battery holds up the working of the laptop.

3. The charging indicator shows orange light (not white).

4. Diagnostics say the batter is okay (when on battery) and replace part when on AC power.

Battery Test Results:

  • Warranty Type: 3
  • Cycle count: 1 / 1000
  • Manufacturer: 333-1B-55-A

  • AC Power: Yes
  • CT Number: 6GHVQ05WYA3CY8

I have tried every solution that is on the internet, from reinstalling the ACPI battery controller to the ACPI embedded controller.

I have also made sure that all my drivers are updated. Windows is also updated.

My BIOS version: F.21 Rev A

As with my long query, you can understand the level of frustration, I am going through. Hp support cannot help, what shall I do. The laptop is crazy expensive, and I can't get a new one as per my current situation.
