HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Yesterday I  purchased 2 brand new units...

1. HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx

2. HP USB-C DOCK (model TPA-B01)

The salesman at the re seller said these 2 products would work together, unfortunaly he appears to be wrong.

When I connect the 2 devices using the hardwired usb-c plug on the dock to the usb-c socket on the laptop there is no recognition.

The dock came with an Type A to Type C adapter IF I connect using this I do get recogniton on the laptop of thre dock and are able to use other usb devices through the dock.

However I was sold these units on the understanding that they would work vis the usb-c connection andf would be able to charge the Laptop vis the dock which has its own power supply, which obvioulsy makes it great for intermitant office use etc.

I have worked with a HP consultant on chat system and have updated a number of drivers on the Laptop in an effort to get them talking to each other. ...No luck so far

Any suggestions about getting these going would be appreciated otherwise both units can go back to the reseller for refund as it appears I have been mislead (at this stage)

Thanks in advance for any help.
